Gear Pumps
Single-section and tandem gear pumps for tractor steering, lift and auxiliary circuits — covering Ford, Deutz, Fiat, Massey Ferguson, John Deere and more.
Applications & hydraulic duty
Tractor hydraulic gear pumps supply oil to circuits for steering assistance, hydraulic lifts, remote valves and implement services, depending on the tractor design. In replacement work, the old pump is the most useful reference: its drive coupling, mounting face, shaft rotation and port arrangement are just as important as a familiar part number.
The range below includes single-section and tandem configurations across Ford, Deutz, Deutz-Fahr, Fiat, Massey Ferguson, John Deere, Parker and UTB reference families. Treat brand and part numbers as identification aids, not proof of drop-in interchangeability.
Displacement & flow
Use displacement (ml/rev) and actual drive speed to estimate theoretical flow. A larger pump does not automatically suit a circuit with a fixed relief valve, line size or power budget.
CW / CCW rotation
Rotation must agree with the driving arrangement. Check the viewing direction used to define clockwise or anticlockwise before ordering.
Shaft, flange & ports
Compare drive engagement, mounting hole pattern, inlet location and outlet threads. Two pumps with the same displacement may have incompatible interfaces.

How a tractor gear-pump circuit works
Mechanical drive
The engine or transmission drive turns the pump shaft. Check gear teeth, shaft spline, keyway or coupling geometry before reusing the original drive.
Oil displacement
Intermeshing gears move oil from inlet to outlet. Circuit demand and pump displacement determine the delivery rate, subject to leakage, viscosity and drive speed.
System control
Valves route flow to the steering, lift or auxiliary circuit. Pressure is created by resistance; the relief setting and component ratings must suit the entire system.
Available models & technical comparison
Use the table to narrow a replacement search by reference family, displacement, pressure limit, rotation and connection sizes. The reference numbers are shown for identification. Confirm dimensions and drive-end geometry against the pump removed from the tractor.

Reading the figures: a value such as 18/12 ml/rev or 30/14 ml/rev denotes two pump sections. Bar and MPa values are shown in the original stated units. Where a specification is not available, measure the existing unit or request a drawing rather than assuming a value from a neighboring model.

Choosing the correct replacement configuration
An existing part reference is a useful starting point, especially for Ford 600-series and 3K514 references, Massey Ferguson MF #9 / #10 assemblies and Fiat 480/640 variants. It is not enough on its own. Check the direction of rotation, the inlet and discharge positions, the mounting diameter, bolt centers and engagement depth of the drive shaft.
The Fiat 640BH/480BH and 640SH/480SH references illustrate why a common body size or a matching displacement cannot be the only selection rule: direction and connection details still matter. For the Deutz tandem and John Deere RE73947 double-section pumps, match both pumping circuits and their separate outlet arrangements before selecting a substitute.
OEM cross-reference, installation & maintenance
For a reliable cross-reference, supply a photograph of the old pump nameplate and shaft end, a front-on mounting-face photo, tractor model and serial range, oil-port measurements and the number of hydraulic sections. Where dimensions are missing, an old sample or a dimensioned drawing is the safest basis for comparison.
Before installation, inspect the drive coupling, flush contaminated lines where needed, fill or prime according to the machine service procedure and verify that suction is unrestricted. After the initial run, check for cavitation noise, leaks, unusually hot oil and slow hydraulic response. These symptoms can come from the circuit as well as the pump.

Frequently asked questions
Can I replace a tractor pump using only the OEM number?
Use the original number to shortlist options, then compare shaft, flange, port size, rotation and displacement. Manufacturer revisions can change an interface without changing how the part is described in the field.
Why are some older Ford references missing pressure or displacement figures?
For several older part-number families, a confirmed value is not available here. The original pump body, tractor parts list and an actual shaft/flange measurement are more reliable than assigning numbers from a similar-looking replacement.
What is the difference between clockwise and anticlockwise pumps?
The internal flow path and intended shaft direction differ. Confirm the convention used to view the drive end and match the replacement to the tractor drive. Reversing a pump without confirmation can cause loss of oil supply or component damage.
Can a tandem pump replace a single-section pump?
Not as a direct interchange. A tandem assembly has more than one hydraulic section and may use different mounting lengths, drive requirements and outlet connections. Both circuits need to be checked independently.
How do I request a quotation for a mixed set of replacement pumps?
Send a model/part-number list with quantities, photographs or drawings, required delivery destination and any known displacement or rotation values. We can assess a combined order before confirming commercial terms.
Ordering, samples & delivery
Minimum order quantity (MOQ) is assessed by pump type, specification and total order value. Where production conditions allow, orders of just 1–2 units can be quoted, although the unit price will usually be higher than for a batch order.
Samples and small lots
New customers may request 1–5 samples when suitable. Availability and sample pricing depend on the selected tractor pump configuration.
Mixed-model orders
Several replacement references may be combined in one shipment. The target combined order value is approximately USD 1,500.
Production schedule
Standard parts: 10–25 working days. Customized assemblies: 20–45 working days. Project equipment: 45–120 working days.
Trade terms: EXW, FOB, CIF and DAP are normally available. FCA, CFR, CPT, CIP and DDP can be discussed according to the destination and shipment requirements. Final availability, lead time and the agreed Incoterm will be confirmed in the quotation.
Send the current pump reference, tractor model, shaft and port photographs, quantity and delivery destination to Ever Power Netherlands Branch.
