LME…UU European Metric Linear Bearings

LME…UU european metric, closed/sealed family linear bearing for d = 5–80 mm. Built for round-shaft linear motion, with model-specific dimensions and load ratings selected from the supplied catalogue.

LME...UU is the european metric, closed/sealed family member of the catalogue linear-bearing range. The LME envelope is the European metric family, so a same-bore LM part can still have the wrong outside diameter or body length. The practical buying question is whether its envelope and mounting style match the shaft, housing and carriage already designed into the machine.

The supplied catalogue places this series on pages 41–42. The documented selection range is d = 5–80 mm. Rather than treating the series code as interchangeable with a similar-looking bushing, confirm the exact diameter family and the mounting geometry before an RFQ is released.

Catalogue note: The source provides model-by-model tables. This import row intentionally keeps the published family limits and field structure; final dimensions, C/Co ratings and mass must be taken from the selected catalogue model rather than inferred from a neighbouring size.

Applications

LME bearings are especially useful for European-origin automation and retrofit work where the housing was machined around the LME outside-diameter series.

They also appear in new equipment when the builder wants to standardise around the European metric envelope while retaining familiar closed, open and adjustable choices.

Selection Guide

Measure both the shaft and housing bore. When an old marking is unreadable, those two dimensions plus body length and open/closed form are stronger identifiers than shaft diameter alone.

For supported rails or adjustable housings, include the required suffix and support-web geometry so the bearing is not forced into an incompatible shell.

Installation & Maintenance

Protect seals and ball tracks from burrs, and avoid clamping a split housing hard enough to ovalise the bearing.

If travel becomes uneven, inspect rail alignment and housing distortion before replacing a bushing that may only be reacting to installation error.

FAQ

What is the main reason to choose LME...UU?
Choose it when the machine needs the european metric, closed/sealed family geometry and its documented dimensional family matches the shaft and housing.
Can I select only by shaft diameter?
No. Shaft diameter is the starting point; outside diameter, length, flange or housing form, clearance and the model-specific load data also need to match.
Where should final dimensions come from?
Use the exact model row in the supplied catalogue pages 41–42; do not extrapolate dimensions between sizes.
What should I send for an RFQ?
Send the series/model if known, shaft diameter, housing or flange dimensions, expected load, travel/speed and quantity.
