PHS is a serviceable female-thread rod end for machinery where grease access is acceptable and a bronze-lined sliding surface is preferred. The eye self-aligns around the pin while the threaded body lets the joint disappear neatly into a rod or linkage. This is a maintenance-required design, so selection is not only a strength calculation. Check whether a grease point can actually be reached after guards, cylinders and covers are installed. Then compare bore, female thread, envelope dimensions and load ratings.
Grease should reach the spherical interface rather than simply filling the outside of the housing. Clean the fitting before servicing and watch for fretting, increasing play or a dry polished track during inspection.
