Stainless steel gearboxes are widely used in industrial transmission fields due to their high strength and corrosion resistance. However, in actual use, stainless steel gearboxes may still malfunction due to improper design, installation, lubrication or maintenance....

LMES / LMBS Precision Linear Bearings
LMES and LMBS are precision linear-bearing families in metric and inch sizes. LMES is documented from 10–50 mm; LMBS covers 1/4–2 inch, with open OP variants available for supported-shaft arrangements.
MOQ flexible. Minimum order value USD 1,500; mixed orders and trial quantities welcome.
LMES and LMBS are intended for applications where the bearing is selected as part of a precision shaft-and-housing system rather than as a generic slide bushing. The two families address different dimensional conventions: LMES is metric, while LMBS provides inch bores for equipment designed around imperial shafts.
The catalogue outline places LMES at 10–50 mm and LMBS at 1/4 to 2 inches. It also notes OP suffix versions for open, clearance-adjustable installations. The technical tables include ball circuit count, mass, body dimensions and dynamic/static ratings, which should be matched at the exact part number.
Key Features
Technical Specifications
| Series | Units | Bore Range | Open Variant | Key Catalogue Fields | Best Fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| LMES | Metric | 10–50 mm | OP available | Ball rows, D1, L/L1/L2, dr tolerance, C, Co | Metric precision equipment |
| LMBS | Inch | 1/4–2 in | OP available | Ball rows, nominal bore, D1, L/L1/L2, C, Co | Imperial precision equipment |
Catalogue note: Keep metric and inch versions separate in purchasing data. Converting the nominal bore does not prove the outer dimensions or load ratings are equivalent.
Typical Applications
These bearings fit precision instruments, measurement equipment, controlled-motion fixtures and legacy machines where the shaft standard must be preserved. The inch LMBS family is particularly useful in MRO work on equipment that would otherwise require an adapter or shaft redesign.
Open variants are appropriate when the shaft is supported along its length. Closed bearings belong on free-standing round shafts with adequate stiffness over the unsupported span.
Selection Guide
First determine whether the machine is metric or inch at the actual shaft, not from the country of origin. Then measure the housing bore and bearing length. Compare C and Co at the target size and identify whether the shaft support requires an open bearing.
If the application requires very low running clearance, provide the required fit and shaft tolerance rather than asking for “zero play”; the housing and shaft accuracy are part of the final running condition.
Installation & Maintenance
Protect precision shafts from nicks during assembly and avoid clamping the bearing shell unevenly. Verify smooth travel before connecting the drive mechanism.
Inspection should include shaft straightness, surface condition and carriage alignment. Replacing a worn bushing without correcting a damaged shaft will usually reproduce the same motion error.
