Product Overview

The EP-K107 is a helical-bevel gear reducer designed for industrial applications that require a
right-angle (90°) change of transmission direction. The drive combines
two stages of helical cylindrical gears with one stage of spiral bevel gears
in a compact three-stage arrangement, delivering precise directional change, wide ratio coverage,
and high efficiency in a single robust housing.

All gears are machined from 20CrMnTi low-carbon alloy steel, carburised and case-hardened to a
tooth-flank hardness of HRC 58–62, with contact fatigue strength σH ≥ 1,500 MPa and bending
fatigue strength σF ≥ 450 MPa. Ground tooth flanks achieve GB/T 10095.1 accuracy grade 6,
minimising noise and vibration and maximising transmission smoothness.

The EP-K107 covers an input power range of 0.12–37 kW and a maximum permitted
output torque of 9000 N·m. The standard gear ratio range is 5.36–250,
giving output speeds from 5.8–10,153 rpm with a 4P induction or servo motor.
Six mounting types — foot (K), B5-flange (KF), shaft-mounted hollow-bore (KA, KAF),
GK-housing hollow-bore (KAB), and torque-arm shaft-mounted (KAT) — cover virtually
every installation requirement. Standard ingress protection is IP55, with IP65 available on request.

The housing is precision-cast from HT250 high-strength grey cast iron and stress-relief aged
to ensure long-term dimensional stability. All rolling-element bearings are sourced from
premium manufacturers, designed to an L10h service life of ≥ 20,000 hours.
A balanced internal pressure system and high-integrity shaft seals prevent lubricant leakage
and exclude external contamination.

Typical Industry Applications

Industry Typical Application
Heavy Mining Long-distance overland conveyor drive stations.
Iron & Steel Blast furnace skip hoist drives and exhaust fan drives.
Shipbuilding Propulsion auxiliary drives and anchor windlass drives.
Wind Energy Yaw and pitch drives for multi-megawatt wind turbines.

The 90° right-angle output shaft of the EP-K107 gives it a decisive advantage wherever
space is constrained or the transmission direction must change. From precision low-speed
processes to continuous heavy-duty industrial operations, the EP-K107
delivers a reliable and efficient drive solution across a wide range of sectors.

Case Study: Vertical Mill Roller Press

Two EP-K107 units drive the pressure rollers of a vertical cement mill. Each delivers 8,200 N·m rated torque, and vibration readings have remained below alarm threshold throughout a 6,000-hour oil-change interval.

Key Product Advantages

High Efficiency

Three-stage combined drive achieves 94–97% unit efficiency. Ground spiral bevel flanks minimise mesh losses and heat generation.

High Torque Density

Compact housing achieves an excellent torque-to-weight ratio. The K107 frame delivers up to 9000 N·m in a package weighing only 285–330 kg.

Long Service Life

L10h bearing life target ≥ 20,000 hours. Premium rolling bearings, engineered lubrication and robust sealing support a 15–20 year equipment life.

Versatile Installation

Foot, flange, shaft-mount and torque-arm types with M1–M6 positions cover virtually every spatial constraint and layout requirement.

Low Noise & Vibration

Grade 6 ground gears and precision-balanced spiral bevel stage keep sound pressure below 78 dB(A), suitable for noise-sensitive production environments.

Wide Ratio Range

Standard ratio series 5.36–250 covers a broad output speed range in one frame size, eliminating the need for separate gearbox families for different applications.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many gear stages does the K107 use?
The K107 uses a three-stage arrangement: two stages of helical cylindrical gears followed by one stage of spiral bevel gears. This combination provides a wide ratio range (approximately 5 to 250) while maintaining high efficiency — typically 94 to 97% for a single unit.
What axial force can the K107 output shaft withstand?
The permitted axial force is approximately 60 to 70% of the permitted radial force, giving a value in the range 37,000 to 43,000 N. For vertical installation where self-weight and working load both act axially, carry out a detailed bearing check or contact Ever Power for a calculation.
Does the KAF107 support dual-end output?
The standard KAF107 has a single B5-flange hollow shaft output. A dual-output custom version is available; alternatively, two K107 units can be run in parallel for dual-drive applications.
How can the K107 service life be maximised in a high-dust cement plant?
Specify IP65 protection, add a V-ring seal behind the output labyrinth seal, check the breather condition every three months, and take oil samples for dust ingress analysis annually. In severe dust environments, reduce the oil-change interval to six months.
Does efficiency drop at low gear ratios (5–10)?
At small ratios, higher pitch-line velocity increases churning and friction losses slightly. Efficiency at ratios of 5–10 is typically 92 to 94%, versus 94 to 97% across the standard ratio range. Include this higher heat dissipation in the thermal design when running at low ratios.
