GE C Spherical Plain Bearing – Maintenance-Free PTFE

GE C is a compact maintenance-free radial spherical plain bearing. The outer ring is pressed around the inner ring and carries a PTFE composite sliding layer, while the spherical surface of the inner ring is chromium plated. The catalogue covers 6–30 mm bores.

Key Features

Maintenance-free PTFE composite sliding layer
Outer ring pressed around the inner ring
Chromium-plated inner spherical surface

Typical Applications

Automation pivots
Compact linkages without grease access
Oscillating joints in clean machinery

Selection Guide

This family is attractive where a grease line would complicate a compact assembly. Select by d, D, B and C first, then check the catalogue load ratings and tilt angle.

Installation & Maintenance

Do not add a grease routine to a PTFE maintenance-free bearing unless a project-specific engineering instruction explicitly calls for it.

Related Bearings

GEG C provides a heavier maintenance-free envelope; GE E / GE ES 2RS is serviceable and available across a much broader bore range; GE ET 2RS uses PTFE fabric and double seals.

FAQ

Outer ring pressed around the inner ring — what changes selection?
The surrounding housing must still be stiff enough to support the outer ring; maintenance-free does not mean insensitive to poor fits or edge loading.
Chromium-plated inner spherical surface — what should installers watch?
Keep the contact area clean, press on the correct ring during installation, and inspect for growing play rather than waiting for a lubrication symptom that this design does not have.
Oscillating joints in clean machinery — suitable duty?
Oscillating joints in clean machinery is a screening application for the GE-C series; final size follows the model table and actual joint duty.
